Diverged Side Table
A sidetable which acts as a conversation starter piece. It aims to explore uniqueness in the unorthodox ways of storage while still holding a modern appearance and form. Storage and placement of table- top books embody a vertical orientation rather than laying flat on the surfaces.
Unique
Ideation was inspired by abstraction with a postmodern parameter. This focused on symmetry, composition, and functionality in order to create the desired conversation starter piece.
Abstraction
Streamlining the form was driven by abstracting the elements of a standard table :
No recognizable four legs
An interrupted tabletop
Books are stored vertically
Minimal volume
Honest placeholders which stab through the components
For every home
The Diverged Side Table was designed to be easily mass manufactured. This consisted purely of straight cuts, tight fits between pieces, and joined without the need of screws and nails.

Monumental
Final design was made to be taller than initially planned. Executing all of the design principles and objectives, the Diverged side table serves as a conversation starter for guests.
